oldest living grapevine in sa

The last couple of weeks have been busy again, so the only photos I've had time to take this week were for the Cape Heritage Hotel, a delightfully inspired boutique hotel in the center of Cape Town. Each room is uniquely decorated in a funky style that retains the best elements of the original old decor and combines them seemlessly with modern designs. The hotel is part of Heritage Square, home to a number of excellent restaurants centered around a secret courtyard which is open to the sunshine but sheltered from the howling south easter! www.capeheritage.co.za has more info (photos to be updated soon ;-)

Growing in the central courtyard of Heritage Square is the oldest living grapevine in South Africa, planted in 1781!

-funny how things just work out sometimes - I was bracketing most of my shots by 5 stops today (much as I miss Fuji's Velvia, this was a luxury I couldn't afford when shooting with film!) this one was totally overexposed, but I liked it, particularly the sketchy look to the building's windows...)
