I can't remember when I had so much plain fun with camera! I went for a walk on the beach and immediately ran back home, squigged into my wetsuit, grabbed the 'pus and took it for its first surf. Conditions were perfect for trying out some on-board photography, classic mid-frontal winter conditions with small but consistent swell, and f... freezing cold water! Easy enough to catch a wave, whip out the cam and giggle off a few shots of whoever was sharing the wave with me, classic muizies-style.

Despite the cold it was such fun that my last surf was half an hour and few more surfs before I actually got out. By that time my arms were so cold they could hardly paddle fast enough to catch the waves. Oddly when I returned to surf with V in the evening it had warmed up to an amazing +/-7 degrees, but the So'easter had whipped up the waves into a confusion of foamies that was surprisingly fun to play in - once again with the Tough8000 in hand - this time Vanessa's...
