Yesterday evening I went for a
walk on the mountain for the first time since I moved out
of my home. Although I haven't ever walked on Slangkop
above Kommetjie before, it felt like home...
They say that when you travel it takes a while for your soul to catch up with your body. Although I've only been travelling around Cape Town since I moved out of my home, it seems like my soul was feeling more uprooted than my body, and it feels like it finally found me again, there on the mountain, where the air is clearer, away from the confusing clutter and clamour of the myriad souls inhabiting this beautiful city.

| When I came across this mimetes
protea bush, I surprised myself when an involuntary squeal
of delight escaped from my lips! Hout Bay, Chapman's Peak and Noordhoek, viewed from Slangkop. |

*so* on this journey with you, Andy, your post is a beacon today, a very encouraging one...gives me hope....
