It's all about feeling good...

Yippee! It's December! The best month, in my opinion, for many reasons (not least because it contains the joyous solstice* which also happens to be my birthday. Ok, ja, I'm biased!)

Last December I let go of a whole chunk of illogical inhibitions and nonsensical fears, setting myself free to follow my dream of creating fine art photographs. I knew what I wanted to do, but I had no idea of the turns my path would take, nor that it would lead me to where I find myself this December: helping others let go of their illogical inhibitions and nonsensical fears, through taking fine art photographs!

The power of being so specific about my desire to do fine-art photography, rather than just photography in general, has astounded me! This year I have been blessed by the most wonderful, fun, inspiring, delightful and joyous photo sessions, where my creative energy has mingled so deliciously with that of the people I've been photographing, resulting not just in some fantastic images, but in some extremely special shared moments and memories.

Whether it's a family photo session in the forest or a nude session on the mountain, I think 'soul-bodyscapes' more accurately describes what I've been offering. Seeing the intrinsic beauty in people is such a lovely gift, and I experience so much delight in seeing the people I photograph play, letting their inner selves out, and being trusted to convey this natural, beautiful essence in my photographs is such a precious honour. (Those who have been on photo sessions know about those moments when I peek at a photo on the back of my camera and start chortling with delight!) But for me, the most fulfilling part of the whole wonderful experience is the moment when I show the person I've just photographed a photo of themselves on the back of the camera and they always say something along the lines of:
"That's me?"
"That's me!"
"I'm beautiful!"
(To which my reply is, with an sigh of recognition: "Yes, of course you are!")

So, it's all about feeling good about yourself!

I'll be putting some more details about my photo sessions on my website soon, but in the mean time please feel free to drop me a line if you're curious and have a few questions.

*(regardless of the hemisphere: in the South because it's slap bang in the middle of summer, and in the North because it indicates the return of the sun and the lengthening of the days - either way, it's a goodie!)

I love feedback! Energy flows both ways, so let me know what you think, whether it's positive or constructively critical, both are valuable!
