Open!

Oh! How I've missed this view! Very different from the last time I was here about six months ago, but at the same time, completely familiar, and it felt like it hadn't been any time at all!
TMNP opened Silvermine East (the part South of Ou Kaapse Weg) on Monday, coinciding with the National Parks Week, when entry to most parks free (on presentation of a valid South African ID!) The dates are from 14th to 18th September (20th for some parks - check details here: http://www.sanparks.org/about/events/parks_week/)
They also invited all the nature-loving shutterbugs out there to submit their finest photos in their Annual SANParks Photographic Competition 2015, which is open for submissions from 15 September 2015 until 18 October 2015; more info at http://www.sanparks.org/about/news/?id=56480
