I find it it somewhat baffling and rather sad to think that we live in a world that has a need for something like a World Kindness Day. Although I think it's largely our current politicians that need the reminder more, because it is my experience that for most people, kindness is simply inherent, something that happens naturally and without requiring much thought. Or maybe I'm just fortunate in the people I have in my life.
I'm nonetheless extremely grateful for all the kindnesses I receive, and also for the feel-good that comes from responses to little kindness given when opportunities arise, be it complimenting a stranger, encouraging a friend, gently putting a bug outside, or being patient with someone who's clearly having a bad day and needing kindness more than condemnation.
So, happy Kindness Day to you, may you enjoy giving and receiving an abundance of it!
