I like rain. I like watching the clouds form days before it rains, morphing from whimsical whisps to solid chunks of deep greys. I like the way the air feels just before it starts to rain, and the way it smells as the first drops tickle the earth. I like the sound of it falling softly. I like the anticipation in that brief silence as it takes a breath, just before hammering down. I like the feel of plants welcoming it, and the way it mutes all other sounds in the bush. I like looking at the jewels it leaves twinking on leaves in it's wake, and the whisps of steam melting upwards from the ground...
