Today is World Oceans Day... I think just about everyone who's reading this is aware of the value of our oceans, all they are and all they contain.
I am starting a project to create more awareness in the general public of the value and plight of our oceans, in the form of creating a beautiful ballgown-type dress (or dresses) out of sea plastic collected from the beach, which I plan to photograph, on a model, on various beaches and rocky shores. The idea is that, just like our oceans appear beautiful and pristine from a distance yet upon closer inspection one finds that it is polluted with diminishing life, so the dresses will appear beautiful from a distance yet close-up one sees they are made of rubbish, entangling marine mammals and birds. I want to emphasise recycling instead of littering, but more so the increasing value and many varied opportunities of re-using and upcycling.
If anyone is keen to get involved, from walking the beach with me collecting rubbish, to joining me in designing and making the dresses, (and ideas for the marine life I plant to entwine in the design), or modeling them for the photographs, please let me know, I'd love to have many people involved. (I'm thinking it might also be an interesting project for school kids as well.)

or in the hearts of those who listen?”

You are the entire ocean in a drop.”

As a wave is continuous with the ocean.”

I love feedback! Energy flows both ways, so let me know what you think, whether it's positive or constructively critical, both are valuable!
